McAlister x Truemed

Qualify to save 30% by paying with your HSA/FSA.

Use pre-tax dollars with Truemed for classes, personal training, nutrition coaching, and more!

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Complete a health assessment with this link. A licensed provider will review and, if eligible, you’ll receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) within 1-2 days.

  2. Make your purchase. Don’t pay with an HSA/FSA card during checkout!

  3. Request an invoice from the front desk for your purchase. Send an email to hello@mcalistertraining.com or ask the next time you’re at the studio.

  4. Submit for reimbursement. Claims are typically paid out in 1-2 weeks.

  • Truemed is a platform that empowers people to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds for non-pharmaceutical health products and services. Their mission is to make proactive, science-backed healthcare solutions more accessible by allowing HSA/FSA dollars to cover eligible expenses such as fitness services and equipment, supplements, sleep aids, and wellness technology.

For more details, check out Truemed's website.

  • These accounts let you set aside pre-tax money to cover eligible health expenses—meaning more purchasing power for you. Instead of paying taxes first and then spending on health items, you can use those pre-tax funds directly for things that help you feel and perform your best (like McAlister workouts!).

HSA and FSA contribution limits are updated annually by the IRS. For the most current contribution limits and guidelines, check the IRS website or talk to your your plan provider.

  • For the best chance of approval, we recommend checking out with your regular credit or debit card instead of your HSA/FSA card. Then, simply submit your receipt for reimbursement following the steps outlined above. This ensures compliance and makes the process as smooth as possible!

  • Every HSA/FSA provider has different policies, but to stay on the safe side, we recommend only submitting expenses dated on or after the issue date of your Letter of Medical Necessity. This helps ensure your reimbursement gets approved without any hiccups!

  • For most FSA/HSA administrators, your expenses will be approved within days when you submit your claim for reimbursement along with your receipt and a Letter of Medical Necessity. The exact timing will vary based on your administrator.

  • If you’ve already received a Letter of Medical Necessity for specific products and services from McAlister, there’s no need to complete Truemed’s survey again—as long as your letter is still valid!

Most Letters of Medical Necessity are good for 12 months from the date they’re issued. Just be sure to submit your receipts for reimbursement through your HSA/FSA provider to keep things running smoothly.

  • With a Truemed Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN), your wellness investments—like fitness, nutrition, and recovery services and products—are officially considered qualified medical expenses, just like a doctor’s visit or prescription.

Research shows that movement, proper nutrition, and proactive health choices are some of the best ways to prevent and even reverse disease. With an LMN, exercise qualifies as a medical expense, and food, supplements, and other wellness products may also qualify if they’re used to treat or prevent an illness and have a doctor’s approval. Your Truemed LMN meets all IRS requirements, making your wellness spending fully reimbursable!

  • If you’re running into issues with your HSA/FSA reimbursement, reach out to support@truemed.com, and they’ll help troubleshoot! Some plan administrators have specific requirements, so it may just be a matter of reissuing your Letter of Medical Necessity using their form. If the issue can’t be resolved, Truemed will refund your fee—no sweat!

  • Yes, you can still submit for partial reimbursement!
